Oekraïne en nieuwe tijdschriften op de eerste AICA-salon

Zo'n twintig AICA-leden en belangstellenden kwamen donderdagmiddag 28 april samen voor de eerste fysieke AICA-Salon sinds meer dan twee jaar.

Aangezien er bij de presentaties een aantal adressen en namen genoemd zijn, hierbij een korte samenvatting:

• Irene de Craen is initiatiefnemer en hoofdredacteur van Errant Journal, een internationaal tijdschrift dat nadrukkelijk niet meteen over kunst gaat, maar wel relevante thema's uit de kunstwereld behandelt.
• Domeniek Ruyters, hoofdredacteur van Metropolis M, vertelde over het plan om samen met AICA een mentorprogramma op te zetten voor beginnende, getalenteerde kunstcritici – hierover later meer
• Anfissa Dorochenko, who is a Senior Research Fellow at the Khanenko Museum in Kyiv, and phd-student in Cultural studies at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, but currently living in Goor, gave us a touching presentation of the current situation of the museum in Kyiv. She told us three ways in which we, as AICA and as art critics in the Netherlands, might be able to help:
  • • 'Our scholars and curators are looking for opportunities to write articles about their collections and publish their research;
    • We need (to be honest, immediately!) packaging for works of art. We strive to find partners and the most convenient way to get packaging.
    • Visibility is essential to us. Several institutions and museums in Europe are already writing about us. Despite all, we are preparing an information project for Museum Day (18 may 2022) and are looking for contemporary artists to collaborate'
• Aansluitend was er een boekenmarkt met boeken van kleine uitgeverijen: Alauda publications, Uitgeverij 1001 en Valiz
• Mensen die op een van de bovenstaande punten willen reageren of hulp kunnen bieden, kunnen contact opnemen met het AICA-bestuur.
